Alex Delarge – main character from movie Clockwork Orange
Alex is a fictional character and the protagonist in Anthony Burgess’ novel A Clockwork Orange and Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation of the same name, in which he is played by Malcolm McDowell.
The character is portrayed as a thrill-seeking sociopath with a narcissistic personality disorder. Alex’s indulgence in ultra-violence, destruction of property, rape, bloodshed, murder, seeking thrills that are terrifying in nature and substance abuse sums up to prove the two mental conditions Alex suffers from.
Over the years the film has built a dedicated fan base that actively discusses, analyses and appreciates its themes and artistic qualities.
